Clarke Delta

A local primary school contacted us due to their difficulty in finding a supplier who would detail guards specifically to cover electric heaters. We conducted a site consultation in order to provide the correct specification.

A survey was also conducted in order to detail dimensions, grill positions, and cut out’s to be completed in manufacture. The mistake that many people make is buying an off the shelf product that doesn’t suit the heating setup.

The key considerations when covering electric heaters:

  1. Allow a suitable air gap between the electric heater, and the radiator guard.
  2. Bottom inlet grilles are required to ensure air circulation.
  3. The outlet grilles at the top of the guard should be positioned to match the outlet grilles on the electric heater.
  4. Do you need regular access for cleaning or changing settings – ensure a guard is used with easy access and opening.
  5. Will the guard be an environment where germs and bacterial are likely to spread – if so ensure the radiator guard is coated with an anti-bacterial coating.
  6. Is the guard in an environment where items like pencils or small fingers could be placed inside large grille openings – ensure grilles are narrow enough to prevent this.
  7. Will the guard offer adequate protection against falls – ensure not sharp edges are present on radiator guards.
  8. If you have any concerns or questions contact the experts!
